The Rosenkeller depends on the work of our service personnel as well as our volunteers. The work does now only makes sure that the club is running smoothly, it is also an important part of our club-culture. All necessary information about the possibilities to participate are listed below.
Gastronomy
One of the main pillars of our club is the gastronomy-team. Our team will take care of our guests from the admittance via the cloakroom to the bars.

Please send an e-mail to bohne@rosenkeller.org if you want to become a part of our gastronomy-team.
The Club
The club lives of and depends on the voluntary work of it’s members. Divided into several working-groups, our members organize and shape the different aspects of life in the club.
Of course we would like to introduce you to some of these working-groups:

The Awareness Group works to ensure that the experience at concerts and parties in the club is safe and happy for guests and staff.
Throughout the club you can find awareness and drink safety posters designed by the awareness group.
We are always looking for people who take care of the well-being of our artists at our live concerts and act as their helping hand and contact person for the evening.
Your tasks consist of preparing the backstage, mediating between bar manager, technician and artists, preparing the catering for artists (we are not a 4 star restaurant, so you don’t need to be afraid of cooking, bands are happy about freshly prepared food 😉 ). In your position as band supervisor, you will work closely with our cultural coordinators, who will show you everything you need to know to ensure everything runs smoothly. The whole thing is remunerated with an honorary allowance.
The assembly group ensures that the club is in good condition. Small repairs can arise in the club at any time and are carried out by the construction team.
Once a year during the summer break, larger projects are implemented together with the entire club. One example of this is the schnapps corner at the Lange Bar, which was renovated and refurbished in summer 2023.
Together with the optics group, the construction group also helps to implement creative changes in the club.
The DJ group consists of the resident DJs of the Rosenkeller. The main task of the resident DJ’s is to enrich the Saturday discos of the Rose Nightclubbing with music.
The residents are also available to support your party ideas. If you are planning a student council, company or theme party in the Rosenkeller, you are welcome to ask the cultural coordinators whether the DJs can play your desired genre.
On warm summer days, we are also happy to serve you in the courtyard. With chilled background music, comfortable seating and cold drinks, you can easily get ready for the discos that follow.
The youth group (also affectionately known internally as the Rose Youth) is one of the younger working groups at the Rosenkeller. The dynamic team is looking for ways to make the rooms in the cellar accessible to younger people. Offers and concepts are developed with great enthusiasm and tried out and implemented together with interested young people. The first successful projects were, for example, events under the motto “How to Nightlife” as part of the Jugendweihe and our first Rose Family Festival on International Children’s Day. But that’s not enough for us… stay tuned for more!
The Rosenkeller pub quiz takes place every few weeks on Saturdays before the disco. This is elaborately organized by the pub quiz group. Questions, formats and much more are discussed and determined in exciting meetings.
A date is then prepared and carried out in a joint effort.
Every Thursday at 8 pm, Jena’s local radio station OKJ broadcasts Rosenradio. The program, which is partly planned and implemented by our resident DJs, gives a good foretaste of the nightclubbing discos and informs about upcoming events and the hottest news from the Rosenkeller.
New event concepts, advertising ideas and the distribution of advertising in the digital and real world – these are the tasks of the advertising group.
From meetings in which colorful event ideas are discussed and sometimes discarded to a monthly pub crawl to distribute the Rosenkeller advertising in the Jena pub and club scene, everything is included.
Creativity! That is the Optics Group’s motto. Whether a wall needs to be painted in more than just one color or the bars need to be decorated for an event. The Optik Group throws all the cool ideas into a cauldron and creates beautiful design concepts for the club.
