DESCRIPTION:Hi\, we are Welk from Leipzig and we fuse the genres of metal\, hardcore and punk into a mix spiced with a pinch of melancholy. Our heart beats for the DIY scene. We’re against any form of intolerant Nazi and macho bullshit. For us\, music is the expression of feelings and creativity. So far we can look back on the release of three EPs and a split. We have gained valuable experience through numerous live performances and feel equally at home in small scene clubs\, youth centers (AJZ)\, concert halls and festivals. Respectful interaction with each other and fair conditions for everyone involved are important to us. \nIra Funesta is a post-metal band formed in 2023\, uniting three members from different corners of the world: Chris (guitar and vocals) from the raw energy of Santa Cruz\, California; Lu (bass and vocals) from the intense contrasts of Italy; and Tiago (drums) from dreamy\, sunny Portugal. Their sound lives somewhere between sludge and catharsis\, a blend of slow\, crushing heaviness and sudden\, chaotic outbursts. It’s noisy\, melancholic\, and raging all at once\, creating space for deep introspection between sadness\, anger\, and ultimate release.
